Unexpected obstacles and problems are taboo for those who have goals. No one wants to stumble or lose along the way. But sometimes life is like a sport that must be played more than once. It is very difficult to win every time you compete.
It is not just the current situation that makes me write this perspective often. But for many people who have goals to do something and are about to be disappointed or face major obstacles, it can happen to everyone.
In team sports, key athletes must be present. If they are missing or cannot compete, it will negatively or significantly reduce the chance of winning. But often, the coach or team manager has to decide not to send them to compete, even if they want to win that game.
The main reason is the team’s “long-term goal.” When the coach or team manager does not send key athletes to compete, it does not mean that they do not want to win or that their determination is reduced. It is to keep them warm and give them a rest. Even in the second half, there are techniques.
There may be many negative results if you force them to compete in every game. Physical fatigue, pressure, loss of motivation, or loss of creativity in the game. It is all possible.
For “us” who are determined, when there are endless obstacles “in many waves,” it is similar to a sport where we have to compete to win too often. Sometimes, it is time to stop and go to the “substitute bench.” Otherwise, it is no different. We may win this match, but many matches may have negative effects if we are unlucky, get injured, lose form, or are under too much pressure. And that is not worth it.
“Can’t stop because there is no one else?”
There may be times when we feel like we can’t rest because the team has no one to substitute for us. In this case, we have to play with an understanding of our own condition. This match this match, we play to support the team. The important thing is to make our body and mind better, ready to move forward and set our intentions again in other matches or in the future that we have to progress.
We must remember that in sports, coaches and team managers think for or guide us. But we have to be mindful and make decisions for ourselves. If we are exhausted and can’t think of anything, we cannot compete. It is time to go to the substitute bench. There is no disadvantage in taking a break and watching other people’s games. It may provide us with another channel and new ideas.
